Hyperbaric Oxygen Chambers for Gyms & Fitness Clubs

For gyms & fitness clubs

Hyperbaric oxygen
on the gym floor

Members train hard, then go home to recover. A chamber on the gym floor adds a recovery block to the routine they already keep. Your own staff work the panel.

What members use it for

What is a hyperbaric chamber doing in a gym?

Members sit inside a cabin for a pre-set time at a mild 1.5 ATA, breathing concentrated oxygen through a mask while ordinary air fills the space around them. Gyms put one on the floor as a wellness amenity for the time between training sessions. We make no medical claims: OxyHelp chambers are declared non-medical wellness devices.

You can put any model in the range in a gym. The OxyLife Gym is the expanded configuration of the C3, C4 and C5 chambers, and it keeps a page of its own. Under pressure more oxygen dissolves into the blood than ordinary breathing allows, and our science page has the longer version.

Nobody has to stand outside watching a member through the session: the chamber is built for self use, and the door opens by hand from inside.

Benefits

Why does a chamber earn
the floor space?

A gym floor is expensive per square metre, and nobody there has spare staff hours.

  1. Steps from the equipment

Members walk from the squat rack to the chamber. Nobody has to drive across town for it.

  2. Room for a group

Depending on the model, one to six members go in at once, from a solo session to a group.

  3. Run by the staff you have

Our factory team walks your staff through the panel at onboarding, and your gym runs it from there.

  4. Where the pressure sits

Wellness use sits at a gentle 1.3 to 1.5 ATA, comfortable enough for daily use.

  5. Air that keeps moving

Fresh air runs through the cabin for the whole session, and the stale air leaves with it.

  6. Little to maintain

Day to day it is a wipe with neutral detergent, plus a new trim seal after three or four years.

How it runs

How does a session run in a gym?

Your staff set time and pressure on the 10-inch touchscreen outside. Inside, a second screen carries start and stop. At the end of the set time, a slow ramp of around eight minutes brings the pressure down, and a member who wants out sooner can stop the session from the seat.

Our engineers plan each installation room by room, and the modules go together on site, which is how a C chamber reaches a floor no one-piece delivery can. Allow 1.5 to 2 m of width, or up to 2.3 m with the entry stairs. Measure the narrowest point of the route in, then the door.

Where a whole ring will not pass the door, we build the same chambers from split modules instead. For back-to-back sessions beyond an hour, the optional cooler keeps the cabin comfortable.

Published research

What the published research says

None of these papers studied an OxyHelp chamber. They are published work on hyperbaric oxygen in general, including trials that found no effect. Read each one for what it measured, and for the limits it carries.

Published

What one randomised trial measured after football matches

Frontiers in Physiology

Double-blind, 20 youth footballers: one hour of 100% oxygen at 2.2 ATA, above the wellness range. They felt more recovered at one hour, not at 12. Blood markers, sprint and jump did not change.

Published

Hyperbaric oxygen around exercise, reviewed

Frontiers in Physiology

A 2021 meta-analysis of ten studies, 166 participants. No significant effect of hyperbaric oxygen before exercise on performance, or after it on recovery. A possible endurance benefit during exercise still needs confirmation.

Published

Recovery methods between training sessions

Sports Medicine

A 2006 narrative review of recovery methods between training sessions: massage, cold water, hyperbaric oxygen and others. No substantial evidence that any of them speeds recovery in elite athletes.

Published

How evenly a chamber clears its own air

Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine

Researchers traced fresh gas through a hospital multiplace chamber and found under-ventilated pockets that a simple well-stirred model misses. They used oxygen as a tracer and did not measure CO2.

Published

Mood after an hour of hard cycling

The Journal of Sports Medicine and Physical Fitness

Ten healthy men recovered from an hour of hard cycling at 1.3 ATA with 31% oxygen, or at normal pressure. Fatigue and tension scores fell only after the pressurised recovery. A very small crossover study.

Published

One session and aerobic endurance

Journal of Physiological Anthropology

Fourteen healthy young men, one 60-minute session of 100% oxygen at 1.3 ATA against seated rest. Resting heart rate fell and heart rate variability rose. Aerobic endurance did not change.

FAQ

Questions before you buy

OxyHelp chambers are declared non-medical wellness devices, and we attach no medical claim to a session. Hyperbaric oxygen in a hospital is a different setting: prescribed by a doctor, at higher pressures, under supervision. A member with a health concern should talk to a doctor before starting any new wellness routine.

Ordinary air fills the cabin, and the extra oxygen comes through a mask at up to 32%. A concentrator makes that oxygen by separating it out of the room air. Pure-oxygen chambers exist in hospitals, with the fire precautions that requires.

Members use it as one part of a recovery routine, alongside sleep and rest days. Published research on hyperbaric oxygen around exercise is mixed: a 2021 meta-analysis of ten studies found no significant effect on recovery markers after exercise. We offer it as a wellness routine, with no medical claim attached.

That depends on the model. The C1 E seats one, the C2 two, the C3 and C4 four each, and the C5 six. Match the chamber to how many members finish training at the same time.

Your own staff. The chamber is built for self use and needs no operator in the room: your staff set the session on the outside screen, the member starts it from the seat, and the door opens by hand at any point. Our factory team covers all of it at onboarding, and support stays available afterwards. Whether anything further applies where you operate is worth checking locally.

Our engineers plan every installation room by room. The C chambers go together on site from modules, and where a whole ring will not pass the door, we build them from split modules instead. Allow 1.5 to 2 m of width (up to 2.3 m with the entry stairs), 2.2 to 4.5 m of length and about 2.15 m of height on the wheels, then measure the narrowest point of the route in.

A hyperbaric chamber for gyms means any OxyLife model put on the floor for members to use between sessions. The OxyLife Gym is a named product: the expanded multiplace configuration built on the same C3, C4 and C5 chambers, with the same engineering and the same EU service. What the Fit, Comfort and Relax packages add is still being written with the factory team.
